Top Ten iPhone iTouch Battery Tips

1) Turn it off at night. Standby mode still uses some power, so completely power down by holding down the power button until prompted to turn off your device.

2) You can turn the device into standby mode quicker by going to Settings/General/Auto-Lock/ and set the time, the lower the time for Auto-Lock the longer your devices battery will stay fuller.

3) Dont let it get to hot or to cold. Extremes of temperature affect battery performance so dont leave it in the sun or on a cold table. The cold and hot can expand and DE-expand the battery which may cause damage and actually cause your battery or device to blow up while in use.

4) Use WiFi rather than 3G. iPhone users especially benefit from this. So if in a WiFi zone use it youll be thanking yourself later for this.

5) Airplane Mode, a lot of people ask what this is but its really a neat trick for improving battery life when you dont need the internet or to receive calls VIA while on the plane itself. Turn airplane mode on to disable all connectivity.

6) Blue-tooth device/devices. Unless you are using a keyboard or hands free headset then keep this turned off. Go To Settings/General/Blue-tooth and disable this feature.

7) Location Services. If you dont have any vital apps that use this then turn it off. Go To Settings/General and use the slider.

8) Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If you dont need mail the minute it arrives on to the Server, turn push off by going to Settings/Mails, Contacts, Calendars.

9) Dont Fetch either, big no when it comes to saving on battery life. Although Fetch uses less power than Push, checking your account automatically still uses it. Set it to Manual this way itll improve and save on your batteries over-all life.

10) Notifications may not seem like much but it is. Either disable individual apps or turn off notifications all together by going to Settings/Notifications. This will disable them and save on your battery life.

If your going to be out of the house for long periods of time and dont have the advantage of carrying around your Laptop or USB cable with power adapter attachment these tips will help. The Apple iPhone And Apple iTouch do use a lot of power when your using it but in retrospect the amount of time between charges and use is amazing considering how much each of those devices can do for you.
